How to configure WhatsApp templates in Shopify

This guide explains how to configure automated WhatsApp notifications for both customers and administrators in your Shopify integration. By setting up these notifications, customers receive timely updates regarding their orders, while administrators are promptly informed of key activities.

Step by Step Guide

Enable WhatsApp Customer templates

  • Navigate to the Integrations section in the menu.

  • Click the settings gear icon and select Edit Shopify Integration.

  • Here you will see various events like new customer signup, when order is placed, when order is fulfilled, etc.
  • Click on Select Template against any of the events for which you want to activate the notification and choose the appropriate WhatsApp template for customer notifications.

  • If your template has variables, it will prompt you to map the required variables to their corresponding fields.

  • Click Save to apply the changes.

  • Repeat same steps for other events that you wish to enable.

Enable WhatsApp Admin templates

  • Navigate to the Integrations section in the menu.

  • Click the settings gear icon to Edit Shopify Integration.

  • Here you will see various events like new customer signup, when order is placed, when order is fulfilled, etc.
  • Click on Admin and thenclick on Select Templateand choose  the template that you wish to send to admin over whatsapp.

  • If your template has any variables, map the required variables to their corresponding fields.

  • Click Save to apply the changes.
