How to Set Up WhatsApp Message Retry in Chat ON Desk

How to Set Up WhatsApp Message Retry in Chat ON Desk

Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a WhatsApp campaign and configure message retry settings in the Chat ON Desk dashboard.

Step-by-Step Guide to Configuring WhatsApp Message Retry

Step 1: Log in to Chat ON Desk

Open the Chat ON Desk dashboard and log in using your registered account credentials.

Dashboard: https://app.chatondesk.com/

After successful login, you will be redirected to your account dashboard.

Step 2: Create a New Campaign

From the dashboard, click on New Campaign to start creating your WhatsApp messaging campaign.

Enter a suitable Campaign Name so you can easily identify the campaign later.

After entering the campaign name, click Next to continue.

Step 3: Add Contacts

You will now need to add the contacts or recipients who should receive the WhatsApp message.

Go to the Add Contacts section and add or select your required recipients.

After selecting the contacts, click Next to move to the next step.

Step 4: Select a WhatsApp Template

After adding your recipients, you need to select the WhatsApp message template that you want to send.

Click on Browse Templates to view the available templates.

Select the appropriate template for your campaign and continue to the next step.

Step 5: Configure Message Retry

The Retry feature in Chat ON Desk allows you to configure what should happen when a WhatsApp message is not delivered successfully. Instead of manually checking and resending failed messages, you can set retry preferences according to your business requirements.

  1. Click Retry in the campaign settings.
  2. Choose between the two available retry options: Automatic or Manual. Select the option that best suits your campaign and communication requirements.
  3. Set the retry count from 1 to 5 times, with a maximum of 5 retries. You can choose the number of retry attempts based on how important the message is and how you want to manage failed deliveries.
  4. Set the time gap between each retry. The minimum gap is 30 minutes, while you can choose a longer interval such as 1 hour, 2 hours, or more, depending on your requirements. This gives you greater flexibility in deciding when the next retry should take place.
  5. Once you have selected the retry option, retry count, and time interval, review the settings and save the retry configuration.

For example, if you select 5 retries with a 30-minute gap, the system can retry the message according to the configured retry schedule. You can also increase the time gap if you want more time between each retry attempt.

This feature gives businesses better control over how failed WhatsApp messages are handled. It reduces the need for manual intervention and helps manage message retries according to your specific communication workflow.

Step 6: Review the Campaign

Before proceeding, review the campaign details carefully.

Check:

  • Campaign name
  • Selected recipients
  • WhatsApp template
  • Retry settings
  • Custom retry value
  • Other campaign details

Once everything is correct, continue with the campaign process.

Step 7: Send the Campaign

After completing the campaign setup and reviewing the details, proceed with sending the WhatsApp campaign.

The campaign will be processed according to the settings you configured, including the selected retry configuration.

Step 8: Check Campaign History

After sending the campaign, go to History from the Chat ON Desk dashboard.

Here, you can check your campaign activity and review the messages associated with the campaign.

You can use the History section to keep track of previously created and processed campaigns.

Step 9: Check Reports

Next, open the Reports section to review campaign performance and message activity.

Reports can help you understand the status of your WhatsApp messages and review the results of your campaign.

You can use History and Reports together to monitor your campaign after sending it.
